Qamsong IPC-B3P8-ILP-U Delivers 180-Degree Coverage Using Dual-Sensors With Hybrid IR and White Light, Active Deterrence And Edge Analytics.
Qamsong IPC-B3P8-ILP-U Delivers 180-Degree Coverage – QAMSONG Technology’s new IPC-B3P8-ILP-U is an 8MP dual-sensor bullet network camera delivering a pixel-level spliced 180-degree panoramic image, with hybrid IR and white light illumination, active deterrence and edge analytics.
Being shown as a new product on stand J21 at Security & Integrate next month, the IPC-B3P8-ILP-U uses dual 1/2.7-inch progressive scan CMOS sensors and 2.8mm fixed focal length optics to generate a 4656 x 1728 pixel panoramic image.
Qamsong describes the process as pixel-level splicing fusion, combining the 2 sensor views into a single 180-degree horizontal image. Vertical field of view is 66 degrees.
Low-light performance is said to be 0.006 lux in colour at F1.6 with AGC operating, falling to 0 lux with supplementary illumination – no surprises there. The Smart Hybrid Light function allows management of IR and white light, with each providing a maximum illumination range of 30m.

FAQ – Qamsong IPC-B3P8-ILP-U Delivers 180-Degree Coverage
Questions & AnswersIPC-B3P8-ILP-U: what installers are asking
How does one camera produce a 180-degree image?
It uses two 1/2.7-inch progressive scan CMOS sensors behind 2.8mm fixed focal length optics. Qamsong combines the two views using pixel-level splicing fusion into a single 4656 x 1728 panoramic frame with a 66-degree vertical field of view.
How much resolution do you actually get across the arc?
The spliced image is 8MP at 4656 x 1728, so 4656 pixels are spread across the full 180 degrees. Pixel density therefore drops off with distance faster than it would on a narrow-angle camera covering the same scene.
Does it need external illumination at night?
Not usually. Minimum colour illumination is 0.006 lux at F1.6 with AGC on, falling to 0 lux with supplementary light. Smart Hybrid Light manages IR and white light, each with a maximum range of 30m.
What does active deterrence do on this camera?
Detected events can trigger red and blue warning lights and alarm sounds at the camera, so a response happens locally without an operator. A built-in microphone and speaker also provide 2-way audio.
Which analytics run on the camera itself?
Qamsong Smart Motion Detection, intrusion detection and tripwire, with human and vehicle classification. People counting, heatmap analytics and face capture are also supported.
How is it powered, and what does it need from the network?
Power is 12V DC plus or minus 25 per cent, or IEEE 802.3af PoE. It supports three video streams and Smart H.264, H.264, Smart H.265 and H.265 compression. Confirm ONVIF profile and VMS integration with Qamsong before you specify it.
Will it cope with Australian outdoor conditions?
The housing is IP67 rated and the camera is specified from minus 30C to 60C at up to 95 per cent relative humidity, non-condensing. Physical adjustment covers 0 to 355 degrees of pan and 0 to 90 degrees of tilt for positioning.
Where can I see it, and who supplies it here?
Qamsong is showing the IPC-B3P8-ILP-U as a new product on stand J21 at Security & Integrate next month. This release does not name an Australian distributor, so contact Qamsong for local supply.
