New ASSA ABLOY SG100 Speedgate Supports Integrated Access Control.
New ASSA ABLOY SG100 Speedgate – ASSA ABLOY’s SG100 is a compact bi-directional speedgate designed for access-controlled pedestrian entrances, with 650mm or 915mm passage widths, configurable security responses and integration with access control and identification systems.
The SG100 uses a 24V BLDC motor to operate hidden barrier wings, with opening and closing times adjustable from 0.7-1.5 seconds. Standard barrier wings are manufactured from 8mm tempered glass, with acrylic also available.
The SG100 incorporates ASSA ABLOY’s Vision Touch framework, which can interface with access control systems using dry contacts or COM ports. The top lid can be configured for surface-mounted readers, while reader holders, stands and access controller integration brackets are available.
In controlled mode, an access control release causes the barrier wings of the SG100 to open for a single person. After passage, the wings close and another release signal is required before the next person can enter or exit.
Operation is bi-directional, with each direction independently configurable as controlled, free or locked. If no passage takes place after an access release, the gate automatically blocks after a configurable timeout of 5, 10, 15 or 20 seconds.
The SG100 can also manage multiple access releases during ongoing passage cycles, with its controller able to store up to 255 releases.
Security responses can be configured to generate an acoustic alarm without blocking the lane, immediately close the wings without an alarm, or close the wings while generating an acoustic alarm. ASSA ABLOY notes that immediate closing during tailgating or wrong-way movement has the potential to cause injury.
Emergency operation is fail-safe, with the barrier wings opening when an emergency input is activated. During a power failure, the mechanism and wings are unlocked and can move freely. The gate automatically resets when the emergency condition ends or power is restored.
LED indicators display gate status in each direction, with blue indicating standby, green confirming passage and red indicating no passage.
Construction comprises a galvanised coated steel frame with stainless steel housing panels and a 10mm tempered glass top lid. The cabinet measures 125 x 1325 x 1000mm and weighs 95kg, while IP44 protection supports operation from -20C to 70C.

ASSA ABLOY specifies mean cycles between failure at 10 million and mean time to repair at less than 30 minutes.
Options include glass or acrylic barrier wings, company logos on the wings, powder-coated housing panels in RAL colours, stainless steel base plates, card inserters and access controller integration brackets.
