HMAS Cerberus Redevelopment Requires Fire, Electronic Security, Gates, Doors

LENDLEASE has issued a tender for the refurbishment of the Royal Australian Navy training base, HMAS Cerberus at Western Port Bay, including surveillance, access control and intrusion.

In conjunction with the Industry Capability Network (ICN), Lendlease is seeking invitation to register (ITR) from suitably qualified security integrator wishing to tender for relevant works packages listed below commencing mid-December:

* Doors, Door Frames & Door Hardware
* Roller Shutters
* Fire Services
* Security
* BMS.

It’s no small job – the site is 1500 hectares and trains around 6000 naval personnel annually, with a population of around 800 trainees, along with training and support staff, on site at any one time.

Navy-specific training includes School of Survivability and Ship Safety, which specialises in firefighting, damage control and nuclear biological chemical defence, seamanship and weapons training. HMAS Cerberus is also the home of the Recruit School and, for all sailors, their first contact with life in the Navy.

Construction works to upgrade and refurbish existing infrastructure and building facilities are expected to commence in Early 2018. From the point of view of contractors, HMAS Cerberus has many heritage buildings and systems will need to maintain their integrity.

Prior to ITR process commencing, subcontractors will be invited to attend an industry briefing for an overview of the HMAS Cerberus redevelopment.

By submitting an expression of interest in, or tender for, this project, you will become subject to the Code for the Tendering and Performance of Building Work 2016.

The tender closes on December 13, 2017, so move fast.
