HMAS Cairns Security Works – BESIX Watpac is seeking security, communications and electrical works as part of an ongoing upgrade at HMAS Cairns in Queensland.
HMAS Cairns primary responsibility is to provide maintenance, logistic and administrative support for Cairns based units listed below. HMAS Cairns also provides refit and training support for neighbouring Pacific Island nations (Pacific Class Patrol Boats).
The base includes command, logistics, fleet support, information and communications support, patrol boat systems, hydrographic and meteorological, port services, health, sea training and more.
The works include data and electrical cabling and control, IT and telecommunications services and security and personal safety services and contractors should not that this project includes work over water.
BESIX Watpac is the managing contractor for upgrades and works at HMAS Cairns, an existing Defence establishment located 3km from the city of Cairns.
Watpac encourages local service providers interested in supplying to the project to provide an expression of interest (EOI) through the ICN Gateway.
