BGWT Announces i-PRO Remote Head Camera For Tight Space Applications November Release.
BGWT Announces i-PRO Remote Head Camera – BGWT is bringing i-PRO’s new remote head camera system to Australian installers, pairing discreet camera heads with a separate AI main unit.
Some of the most critical points to be monitored are often also the hardest to reach. ATMs, self-service kiosks, retail fixtures and tight entry points very rarely have room for a conventional camera.
According to Mark Shannon, national product manager at BGW Technologies, “that is exactly the gap i-PRO’s remote head system fills”.
“You mount a compact 2MP head exactly where you need to see, and the processing sits up to 15 metres away in the 1-channel AI Main Unit,” Shannon explains. “This gives a discreet installation without giving up any of the intelligence.”
The i-PRO Remote Head range offers 3 head styles: indoor straight heads with 2.4 or 3.2mm lenses, a right-angle pinhole head measuring just 24 x 44 x 21mm, and 25.5mm-diameter outdoor heads rated IP66, IP67 and IP69K. Each i-PRO Remote Head connects to the main unit over a 1, 8 or 15 metre IX connector cable.
“i-PRO has even provided as an option, a mount that installs like a downlight,” Shannon says. “And when it comes to operations the 1-Channel AI Main Unit is where the system earns its place.“
“Built on the Ambarella CV25M chipset, it runs up to 2 edge AI applications, including people, vehicle and face detection, AI privacy guard and occupancy detection. AI sound classification adds alerts for gunshots, yelling, breaking glass and vehicle horns.”
“This is the level of analytics you’d expect from a full-size camera, behind a lens most people will never notice,” Shannon says.
“Further, the unit features 144dB wide dynamic range, a FIPS 140-3 Level 3 secure element and NDAA compliance, ticking the boxes for banking, retail and government sites.“
According to Shannon, remote head cameras used to mean trading performance for size.
“This system gives integrators both – performance and compact size,” Shannon says. “When it comes to i-PRO, at BGW Technologies, we are not simply supplying cameras – from site design and pre-sales advice through to training and technical support, we’ve got you.”
