The first
‘flagship’ course, which will run in New South Wales on 23–25 August, will be
facilitated by Tavcom’s commercial director, Paul Tennent, and conducted by its
technical manager, Gideon Wheeler. A ‘Train the Trainer’ programme will allow
future courses to be led or supported by TECSEC’s team of local tutors.
Paul Tennent is
confident that the new training ‘hub’ will be a very successful addition to
those already being operated by Tavcom in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

by internationally recognised professional qualifications like our BTEC and
City & Guilds Awards and Diplomas.

give the local security industry exactly what it needs to keep it at the
cutting edge.”
TECSEC’s Training
Manager, Lee Evans, recognises that the path to success will be a long one but
he is confident that, by developing a strong partnership with an independent
and long established training provider like Tavcom, by offering certification
by highly respected awarding bodies like Edexcel and City & Guilds and by
working closely with Australian State Regulators and Industry Associations, a
national licensing system can emerge that will encourage those with ambition
and talent to enter the electronic security profession.

Paul Tennent will
remain in Sydney for a week following the course to support TECSEC at
Australia’s premier security event, the Security 2010 Exhibition and
Conference, which will take place at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition
Centre at Darling Harbour on 1 – 3 September. Visitors will find the Tavcom and
