Neoen Seeks Security Systems, Services And Fencing For Goyder North Wind Farm Project.
Neoen Australia is seeking contractors for 2 security packages covering security systems, guarding and security fencing for the Goyder North Wind Farm Project in South Australia’s Mid North.
The first tender covers security services for Goyder North and includes the supply of security guards and security systems. No further detail has been published on the electronic security requirement, including system types, quantities, platforms or monitoring arrangements.
Large energy generation sites are typically protected by access control, alarms, automation and CCTV solutions, with large perimeters and significant infrastructure making such applications complex.
A separate tender covers the supply and installation of security fencing for compounds, substations and other site areas across the project. The tender release doesn’t give details, but these secure enclosures will need gates and access control.
Goyder North is part of Neoen’s wider Goyder Renewables Zone near Burra, a major renewable energy development combining wind generation and battery storage. Goyder North has planning consent for up to 135 wind turbines, equivalent to around 1000MW of generation, and battery storage of up to 900MW/3600MWh.
The project has since been refined, with Neoen focusing on a Goyder North Wind Farm of up to 99 turbines, to be constructed in 1 or 2 stages. The first stage will provide at least 300MW of capacity, with construction expected to commence during 2026.
Goyder North forms part of a larger build-out already underway in the region. Neoen’s 412MW Goyder South Wind Farm, comprising 75 turbines, reached full generation in 2025, while 2 stages of the Goyder Battery totalling 454MW/1814MWh are under construction.
The first 300MW of Goyder North generation will also contribute to a 10-year renewable energy agreement under which Neoen will supply BHP’s Olympic Dam, Carrapateena and Prominent Hill mines from July 2029, supported by energy storage from Goyder Battery. This agreement makes security of Goyder North more pressing.
